Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa

A week ago Sunday I visited Senso-ji Temple in the Asakusa area of Tokyo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senso-ji). The temple and grounds are very beautiful as you can see from the photos below (as always please click on the image to view a bigger copy):

Unfortunately Thunder Gate which can be seen in wikipedia is currently under going some sort of work, it’s covered by a white shroud for painting or restoration? Thunder gate would be visible at the other end of this crowd, but it is covered in white as you can barely see:
